2007

Morelock Elected to the Board of Directors of the Building Congress & Exchange of Baltimore

Robert E. Morelock, RLA, an Associate Principal with Site Resources, has been voted to the Building Congress & Exchange’s Board of Directors. Established to foster interaction and communication between businesses allied with the construction industry, the organization also focuses on member education and service to the community.

Mr. Morelock is slated for a three year term.

2006

Site Resources Participates in the ACE Mentor Program in Baltimore

Site Resources’ principal, Michael Fisher, volunteered to lend his time and enthusiasm to the Architecture, Construction and Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program, for a second year. This national program actively seeks to inform high school age youth about the architectural, construction and engineering professions, which have long experienced qualified workforce shortages.

As a mentor, Mr. Fisher and other allied professionals worked with a team of students and engaged them in a variety of activities, over the course of a year, to make them aware of the diversity of the design and construction fields, and the many exciting opportunities available to them. The culminating activity was completing a simulated local design project that required the student team, supported by Mr. Fisher, to work through the entire design and presentation process.

Site Resources Welcomes Ken Kinsey and Fritz Behlen to the Firm

Mr. Kinsey is a veteran in the land planning and site development field. A Professional Engineer, Surveyor and Landscape Architect, Mr. Kinsey brings a unique combination of skills, and thirty-three years of practical design experience and personal ingenuity to our planning and design team. His project experience traverses many sectors. As Vice President of Engineering, Mr. Kinsey’s focus will be the growth and advancement of the firm’s civil engineering component, while maintaining the integrity of the design process.

Mr. Behlen is an established landscape architect with a twenty-four year project portfolio in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area. His planning and design skills have been lent to a broad base of development projects. Mr. Behlen’s expertise cuts across a project life, melding land planning, landscape architecture and the development of site elements for a cohesive, well-defined design solution. Having served as the Director of Design at his former place of employment, it is his vision for quality design, from the big picture to site-specific detail that he brings to Site Resources.

Mike Fisher to Serve Second Term on Board of Examiners for Landscape Architects

Site Resources' principal, Michael Fisher, has been nominated to serve a second term on the Maryland Board of Examiners for Landscape Architects. Initially appointed to the Board in July 2003, Mr. Fisher's second three-year term will begin in July, 2006.

As a sitting member of the Board, Mr. Fisher provides oversight for the licensing and regulation of landscape architects, and partnerships and corporations, while also aiding in the investigation of complaints against licensees.

Site Resources Moves 50 Yards and Makes Touchdown at New Office Location

Site Resources has officially moved to a new location, directly behind its former place of business. The new office building allows for much needed space and room to grow. Effective January 24, 2005, Site Resources' new address is: 14315 Jarrettsville Pike, P.O. Box 249, Phoenix, Maryland 21131-0249.

Building Congress & Exchange's Craftsmanship Committee Gets Underway

Michael Fisher, a Principal of Site Resources, has been tapped to serve a fifth year on the Craftsmanship Committee for the Building Congress & Exchange of Metropolitan Baltimore. The committee will undertake the review and evaluation of nominated projects for Craftsmanship Awards.

Recipients will be recognized at the Annual Awards Dinner to be held Friday, November 5, 2005.

The 2005 Legacy Chase at Shawan Downs - A Celebration of Maryland's Steeplechasing Tradition

Saturday, September 24, 2005 is the fifth running of the Legacy Chase. In support of the Land Preservation Trust and GBMC HealthCare, Site Resources is again sponsoring a turf tent at the event. Site Resources has supported this event since it commenced in 2001. Race day proceeds will benefit Greater Baltimore Medical Center HealthCare including Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Hospice of Baltimore and the Gilchrist Center, and the GBMC Foundation.

Site Resources served as the land planning and design consultant for this first-class equestrian center and steeplechase course located in Northern Baltimore County, MD. The Land Preservation Trust established Shawan Downs on 300-acres of former farmland, acquired as a way of preserving the landscape's agricultural legacy while building a new tradition of equestrian events. Completed in 2001, Shawan Downs features flat and steeplechase courses for racing under the sanction of the National Steeplechase Association.

2004

Meadowood Park Chosen for Award

The Maryland Recreation and Parks Association Award Committee chose Meadowood Regional Park as the 2003-2004 recipient of the "MRPA Landscape Site/ASLA Award. The award was presented to the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks and the design team joint-venture of Site Resources/Greenman Pedersen.

Meadowood Regional Park is a 95-acre historically and environmentally sensitive site, carefully developed by Baltimore County to meet the active and passive recreational needs of the community, while respecting the natural features. Elements include a trail system, picnic pavilions, stream buffers, floodplain crossing with a 30 foot pedestrian bridge, wetlands, meadow planting, natural regeneration areas, stormwater quality facility, comfort station with BMS composting system in lieu of a standard septic system, maintenance building, and lighted athletic fields.

The award was presented at the All Conference Breakfast during the Association's Annual Conference.

2003

Michael Fisher Appointed to Sit on the Board of Examiners for Landscape Architects

Michael Fisher, a principal of Site Resources, was nominated and accepted an appointment to sit on the Maryland Board of Examiners for Landscape Architects.

The State Board of Examiners of Landscape Architects licenses and regulates landscape architects, and partnerships and corporations through which landscape architecture is practiced. The Board also investigates complaints against licensees.

Mr. Fishers' three year term begins in July, 2003.

2001

Site Resources, Inc. Chosen for Award

The Baltimore County Soil Conservation District recently presented its annual engineer and engineering consulting firm awards. The awards are presented annually for consistently excellent work in the preparation and design of erosion and sediment control plans. District Urban Conservationist Jeff West presented the Consulting Firm of the Year Award to Site Resources, Inc., as accepted by firm Principal, Michael Fisher, and the Consultant of the Year Award to Jeffrey L. Schwab, P.E., an employee of Site Resources. Developers are required to follow sediment control plans during construction to keep stormwater from washing sediment off a construction site and into nearby drainage systems.

The awards were presented during a meeting of the Board of Supervisors held on February 19, 2002.
